IRTA has chapters in all 92 Indiana counties. 2. IRTA is affiliated with NRTA and AARP. 3. IRTA is issue oriented . . . pensions, quality of life. 4. IRTA is always working toward member benefits. 5. IRTA is working ONLY for retired teachers, as the largest and oldest group in Indiana. 6. IRTA membership is open to all retired teachers, administrators and their friends. 7. IRTA is actively working with the Indiana legislature to improve programs for retired teachers. 8. IRTA maintains it own website to keep you up to date on legislative and other developments. 9. IRTA lifetime membership dues are lower than others and can be paid with many different options. 10. Dues are only $35 per year, as compared to $55 for other organizations.
